Lemon Tandoori Chicken

Tandoori chicken, is a method of making, a chicken dish by helping tandoori oven. This is made up of clay, was founder in Punjab in the late 1940s. Mr. Mokha Singh founder of a restaurant named Moti Mahal in Peshwar in the era of British IND, which is now a part of our neighboring country Pakistan. Lemon Tandoori chicken was popularized at Moti Mahal in the locality of Daryaganj, New Delhi. Now it is popular in all over the world and mostly in India. It is also known as roasted chicken.

Recipe Time

Ingredients 

  • 2 pound Chicken          
  • ½ teaspoon Ginger                 
  • ½ teaspoon Garlic
  • 2 cup Yogurt (hang curd)
  • 1 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • ½ teaspoon Coriander leaf
  • ½ teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Fresh green chili chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Kasuri methi
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala 
  • 2 Lemon juice 
  • 1 teaspoon Salt (Add salt as per taste)
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable Oil  
  • 1 teaspoon Butter
  • ½ teaspoon Chaat masala
  • ½ teaspoon Tandoori masala

Marinating Process

First take a clean bowl and add a washed chicken in running water. Put red chili powder, lemon juice, salt, ginger garlic paste, little bit of oil then put the chicken on it and rub it well with adding excess paste of spice and tandoori chicken masala. After that keep it (bowl) aside and leave it for 3 hour.

After that put the hung curd in bowl and whisk it properly add all the spice like turmeric, kasuri methi, red chili powder, coriander powder and ginger garlic paste. Mix it well then put it on chicken. Leave the chicken for some time.

Method of Preparation

Step1   Mix all the spices and marinated items to make lemon tandoori chicken. After you have done properly then Pre heat the tandoor at 400 degree and check whether it is ready to cook.

Step 2  Take skewer; skew each pieces of marinated chicken in skewer with a gap of around 2 inch.

Step 3  Put a light butter on skewer chicken then put it inside the tandoor to heat it well.

Step 4  Get the chicken piece out from the tandoor after 8 to 10 minutes and check whether it is properly cooked and then put a light butter on it. Serve it on a plate for decoration.

Step 5  Sprinkle chaat masala and serve with chutney (Indian Condiment), spring onion salad and lemon wedges.
